General Worker Vacancy – City of Tshwane
The City of Tshwane is inviting applications from dedicated and hardworking individuals for the General Worker position within the Waste Water Treatment Plant. This role is ideal for candidates who are physically fit, safety-conscious, and prepared to work in a demanding operational environment. The successful applicant will play a key role in maintaining a clean and hygienic workspace to ensure the smooth functioning of plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain high levels of cleanliness and hygiene across all designated working areas.
- Load, unload, carry, and relocate materials, tools, or equipment as necessary.
- Perform general labour duties within the waste water treatment facility.
- Assist with routine maintenance tasks and basic operational activities.
- Carry out any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.
- Follow all safety procedures and adhere to operational standards at all times.
Minimum Requirements
- Basic literacy skills.
- Ability to perform physically demanding labour.
- Comfortable working in challenging or high-pressure environments.
- Previous experience in a waste water treatment plant will be an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent physical fitness and good overall health.
- Willingness to work shifts when required.
- Ability to follow instructions and work either independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Willingness to undergo fingerprinting and a criminal record check at own cost.
