Introduction
Komatsu South Africa is seeking a technically inclined and motivated individual with a passion for heavy earthmoving machinery to join our team in Mogalakwena as an Artisan Assistant. The ideal candidate should have at least one year of experience working with earthmoving equipment and be eager to support artisans in daily operational and maintenance activities.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with the assembly and disassembly of machines and components.
- Perform cleaning of components and machines as required.
- Conduct basic maintenance tasks and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
- Operate and drive Komatsu service vehicles.
- Operate Komatsu machinery when necessary.
- Be available for overtime, standby duties, and travel when required.
- Support artisans in all aspects of machine maintenance and repair.
- Adhere to safety protocols, especially around machine and component movement.
- Use basic workshop tools efficiently and understand their purpose.
- Work effectively under pressure.
- Collaborate within a team environment and maintain positive working relationships.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a workshop or technical environment, preferably working with earthmoving equipment.
- Basic understanding of workshop tools and machine repair processes.
- A valid Code 8 driver’s license is an advantage.
- Strong interest in heavy earthmoving machinery.
- Basic knowledge of SHE and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English with good interpersonal skills.
