Requirements:

  • Grade 10 / ABET Level 4 / vocational studies or an equivalent qualification.
  • Ability to read and write.
  • Must be able to communicate in more than one official language.
  • Knowledge of Batho Pele Principles and relevant legislative prescripts.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Transport patients safely from one point to another within the hospital.
  • Assist with off-loading patients from private vehicles and ambulances.
  • Ensure the availability of clean wheelchairs and stretchers for patient use.
  • Provide assistance in the mortuary during weekends, after hours, and public holidays.
  • Record mortuary temperatures during weekends and public holidays.
  • Push patients using stretchers or wheelchairs when required.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
